As a make up artist predominantly in Tv which has better hours for us working mothers!, I applied to skillset for a bursary to update my skills to complete my NVQ2 barbering , unfortunately I was not granted a bursary due to my past two years of work have been In TV and not film. If I had worked in film I would have been granted it as there is a "skills shortage" but they don't have funding for TV. Make up artists. Look carefully at the detail as their rules are ridged. Now as I don't have film on my CV within the last two years a choice I made for family life, I will halve to wait to see if the chance of a bursary comes up for me to complete my course in my field.
